What We Do

The Martial Arts Aren’t just about fighting. They are about control, respect, discipline, and courage.

The Elysium Organization assists in three main ways –

* Martial Arts Training
* Martial Arts Equipment

* Competition Fees

We seek to support martial art gyms that teach more than just physical skills, but also embrace the holistic approach of teaching that includes life skills, life lessons and are positive forces in their communities.TEO seeks to support martial art gyms that teach more than just physical skills, but also embrace the holistic approach of teaching that includes life skills, life lessons and are positive forces in their communities.

TUITION SUBSIDIES

Tuition represents the single, greatest hurdle that people who live in poverty have to overcome when it comes to quality training. Depending on the level of a student’s income, the Elysium Organization helps to defray the cost of training tuition by subsidizing the cost.

EQUIPMENT ENDOWMENT

Training in the martial arts will inevitably require some form of equipment. This is often another hurdle that must be overcome by students who lack the funds to fully engage and
integrate the martial arts into their daily lives. Through equipment endowments, we can give students the tools to allow them to start shaping their destinies!

COMPETITION SUPPORT

The Olympic Champion, Dan Gable once said, “Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.” We believe in the value of competition. We have found that by encouraging students to work hard in class, then allowing them to be tested in the crucible of competition, students develop as strong-willed, fair-minded individuals. It is for these reasons we will help students offset the
costs associated with tournament participation.

The Elysium Organization’s Ten Commandments

The Elysium Organization subscribes to ten ideas which we see as integral to martial arts. Patron gyms will be required to support these Life Skills to be part of our organization:The Elysium Organization subscribes to ten ideas which we see as integral to martial arts.

I will listen to what others have to say

When I wait my turn to speak, I can hear what everyone has to say. When I wait my turn to speak, I can hear what everyone has to say.

I will treat others the way I would like to be treated.

Shoving, bullying, name-calling and treating others badly hurts them and hurts me.

I will respect the diversity of all people.

Whether we are the same or different on the outside, it’s the person we are on the inside that counts.

I will remember that I have people who care about me in my family, school, and community.

Families, like school and communities, can be many sizes and made up of
all kinds of people.

I will try my best.

Even when I make mistakes, I learn from them. The more important
thing is to keep trying.

Self-Confidence

Self-confidence is a proud, happy feeling I get when I have tried my best. It’s up to me to be proud of myself, when I have done a good job. Some ways I show myself that I have self-confidence are by sitting, standing and speaking with pride.

Self-Control

Self-control is when I control what I do and what I say. I use my self-control
to follow directions. Using self-control helps me resist doing things that may be harmful to myself and others. Self-control helps me stay safe and be successful.

Responsibility / Consequences

Responsibility is when I am able to take care of myself and depend on myself.

Thinking and Problem Solving

 Thinking is when I come up with as many ideas as I can.
Problem solving is when I think in order to solve a problem. I keep thinking until I solve
the problem. I never give up.

Cooperation

Cooperation is when I work well with others. I cooperate to solve
problems and resolve conflicts.
